I’m walking out of the lunch room at work today and a guy who I work with, but don’t very well, says “hey”, and raises his hand to wave at me. The problem was that he was only like 3 feet away and walking toward me. In my defense…if you’re going to wave to someone, you have to be further than 3 feet away. Like 5 feet minimum. So I misjudged the situation and took that close-proximity wave as an invitation for a high-five.
We both just kinda stood there uncomfortably processing what occurred.
